Liz on FITS:

"Ok, I have to be perfectly honest. I was one of those people who looked at FITS and said, "Eh, the butt looks funny." I used to be a total designer- European breeches girl. Then I was given a pair this spring and LOVED them. They are the most comfortable breech I have ever worn. I love their light weight and the natural leather material on the seat. Added bonus- my boyfriend loves them, too! He prefers the "look" of the FITS breeches to that of regular breeches. That sold me!"

Twenty-seven-year-old Liz Austin has been a dressage competitor since 1989 (she began competing when she was only five years old). She began riding sales horses for her mother, Madeleine Austin, when she was twelve, the same year she started her first horse under saddle. At sixteen she competed in her first Prix St. Georges on a horse she trained herself and by twenty-two she made her Grand Prix dressage debut in Europe riding Olivier, her mother's homebred stallion.

Liz has had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest riders and trainers in the world, including a two month stay in Germany working with US Team Coach Klaus Balkenhol. Other trainers Liz had had the opportunity towork with include Conrad Schumacher, Lendon Gray, Tuny Page, JenniferBaumert, Ulla Salzgeber, Carol Lavell, Michael Poulin, Hubertus Schmidt, Ulf Moller, Ingrid Klimke, Michael Klimke and Lisa Wilcox.

Currently competing internationally with Olivier, Liz has had a banner yearin 2011 including wins and placings at four CDIs in Florida, being invitedto ride in the 2011 World Dressage Masters and is currently on the USEF "B" Team at Grand Prix. She was also the reserve rider for the 2011 FEI World Cup.

Yvonne on FITS:

"I have been in the horse business all my life and have trained and competed horses in everything from Team Penning and barrels, to Standardbred racing. From 100 mile endurance rides, to Equine Theatre to Grand Prix Dressage

The right apparel and equipment is always necessary and appreciated by any professional and FITS breeches are just that. Designed with the riders comfort and functionality in mind these clothes are very user friendly. They are long lasting, flattering, easy to work in and care for and feel like yours the second you put them on.

I had tried the original FITS years ago and was pleasantly surprised when I put on these newer models. They could have been designed by me, for me that's how happy I was both walking around and riding in them. I have some good looking designer breeches in my closet and once in a while I pull them down wondering why they are stuffed way up on that shelf. Half way through the day I remember. They are no fun to ride and work in. No such problems with FITS. If you have never tried FITS or have not ridden in a pair lately do yourself the favor"

Yvonne Barteau is a lifetime horsewoman. She has dedicated her life to understanding horses and preparing them for their careers whatever that might be. She and husband Kim own and operate KYB Dressage out of Grand Prix Equestrian in Maple Park Illinois.

Yvonne has trained over ten horses to the Grand Prix Level and has won numerous USDF Horse of the Year titles as well as winning CDI and FEI classes around the United States. She is a sought after instructor and clinician as well as a public speaker on Equine Personalities and temperaments and strategies involved with identifying and training the different personality types.

Yvonne and husband Kim have also worked in the Equine entertainment world for over twenty years with everything from Liberty work to bridle less Grand Prix exhibitions. They have appeared on the TODAY show, at Madison Square Gardens, Equine Affaire and Equitana as well as as training and performing with the horses at the Arabian Nights Dinner Theater in Orldando Florida.

Currently Yvonne is campaigning two horses at the FEI levels. GP Raymeister a three time USDF Horse of the Year has already scored in the seventies at the Grand Paris Level. GP Delano is showing PSG and Int. I and is now schooling the Grand Prix.

Jane on FITS:

FITS breeches are absolutely the most comfortable breeches I've ever worn! They're like wearing a second skin. They move with me in every direction, and never bag or droop in those critical spots!

Plus, I've never been a fan of full seat breeches. But FITS unique segmented style allows me to be comfortable in them. Finally, I can enjoy the benefits of full seat breeches without feeling restricted. What a great find!!"

Jane Savoie is one of the most recognized names in dressage, and for a good reason. Her accomplishments and the breadth of her influence are impressive. Her visibility as a dressage competitor, coach, instructor, clinician, speaker and author makes her truly unique.

She has been a member of the United States Equestrian Team and has competed for the US in Canada, Holland, Belgium, France and Germany. In 1992, she was the reserve rider for the Bronze medal winning Olympic dressage team in Barcelona, Spain. She has been long-listed by the USET with several horses and has won nine Horse of the Year awards and three National Freestyle Championships.

Jane is as well known as a coach, writer, and motivational speaker as she is for her competitive accomplishments. She has coached at 3 Olympic Games—Atlanta, Sydney, and Athens. In 1996 and 2004 she was the dressage coach for the Canadian 3-Day Event Team in Atlanta and Athens. She also coached several top dressage and 3- Day Event riders in their preparations for the 2000 Olympics and while in Sydney she helped rider Susan Blinks secure a bronze medal for the US dressage team.

Jane has written five books that have been published both in the US and abroad. Her best-selling books include That Winning Feeling!, Cross-Train Your Horse, More Cross-Training, It's Not Just About The Ribbons, and A Winning Attitude.

Jane has also launched a first of its kind interactive coaching program for dressage enthusiasts, Dressage Mentor. To learn more about Jane, go to www.janesavoie.com or www.dressagementor.com.

DOB 1982

Eliza on FITS:

"I was introduced to FITS because I needed to find a winter breech that would keep me warm enough to ride all day long, have enough grip for me to really work my horses, and be breathable. I thought this was an impossible request, but I found it all in the FITS Winter Weather Breech. The design is so comfortable and the way the fabric moves WITH you is wonderful."

Eliza Sydnor is a rising star in the dressage world. She epitomizes a classically trained dressage rider, trainer and instructor. She is a successful competitor and a sought-after trainer. In 2007 Eliza made history by becoming the youngest person in the United States to receive her USDF Training-Fourth Level Instructor Certification.

Eliza is the daughter of Cindy Sydnor, a well respected dressage trainer from North Carolina who was long listed for the USET from 1976 – 1979. Eliza became interested in dressage very early in life, and she was fortunate to receive excellent daily instruction from her mother. Cindy is known as a classical trainer who learned from Karl Mikolka, Bengt Ljungquist, and Walter Zettl. Cindy instilled a powerful appreciation of theory and true "basics" in Eliza.

Eliza then went on to be a working student for Jennifer and Beth Baumert, Lilo Fore and Klaus Balkenhol. All of the above trainers taught her a great deal and allowed her to develop her skills as a true trainer rather than just a rider.

Since 2004, Eliza has trained with Scott Hassler as often as she can. Scott has helped to improve Eliza's riding in all areas and has given her more confidence as a trainer and instructor.

Eliza has competed successfully through the Grand Prix. All the horses she has competed on throughout her life have been trained exclusively by her. She has had wonderful opportunities to learn from a few schoolmasters, but she always found the greatest pleasure in training her own horses for the competition arena and developing that special relationship over time.

One of Eliza's specialties is working with young horses. She has started over 30 young horses under saddle, prepared and won three Mare Performance Tests with young mares for the American Hanoverian Society, started and trained three young horses for the FEI Young Horse Tests, and been selected five times to participate in the Young Horse Dressage Trainers Symposium.

Jessica on FITS:

FITS are the most comfortable breeches I have ever worn. FITS full seat design lets me move in harmony with my horses. FITS deerskin with holes breathes and grips just the right amount. I love the Winter Weather breech with its plus inside for cold weather riding and long winter days; and I love FITS All Season breeches for year round riding and showing. I am also sort of “fashion challenged” and with FITS tops and breeches I know that I will look stylish and professional and that my shirts and breeches match and look great together every time!

Jessica has been a horse industry professional for almost 15 years. She started in the field of three day eventing where she soon found her niche in starting young horses and problem-solving. This shift of focus segued Jessica deeper into dressage as she felt the youngsters needed a solid basic education before continuing on to an over fences career. Today her program focuses on laying a classically correct foundation, with a systematic approach aimed at identifying problems unique to each individual and addressing them sympathetically.

Jessica is currently looking to debut at Grand Prix on Northforks Cardi, a Welsh Cob stallion she started herself and co-owns with Cindy Miller of Winterlake Welsh. She also has some exciting youngsters ready to shine this year, including her young stallion Diamondhead and the fabulous sisters Wolkenkarat, Rio Rio, and Rio Rima, bred by Cocolalla Creek Sporthorses, who have all earned multiple HOTY titles. Jessica is also in high demand as a handler for in hand showing.

Though the sky is the limit with such a talented roster, Jessica says "Honestly, I have such amazing horses that, at this point, I have no specific goals like the Olympics or World Cup. My horses decide their paths and I'm just along for the ride. And what a ride it is…."

Hawley
I was introduced to FITS by fellow FITS rider Laine Asker, while competing in the spring of 2009 at the Jersey Fresh CCI. From the moment I pulled on the All Season Zip Front Full Seat breech, I fell in love. They are truly the most comfortable riding pants I have ever worn!
The true test for me was when I came back to the California climate and the heat of riding a bunch of horses each day. I have not had any rubs or uncomfortable moments since wearing these breeches. I have not ridden in anything else since acquiring FITS! HawleyThey are extremely durable and wash very well (even when I do the laundry, which is saying a lot!!!!) I wear the Champagne Waffle Tech show shirt and matching stock tie for dressage and have gotten many compliments. The All Season zip front full seat breeches are my choice for XC and Show jumping, as they give me extreme security in the saddle, while looking great. I would HIGHLY recommend FITS for every discipline!!”

Kim on FITS:

I was introduced to FITS full seat breeches about two years ago and really enjoyed wearing them from the start. FITS were the first full seat breeches that didn't give me any rubs or chafing. They have great grip on the saddle; plus they are more comfortable and let me move more freely than any other full seat breech I have ever worn.

Kim Severson, international competitor and Olympic Silver medallist, is one of the top event riders in the world. She has been described as one of the most prolific riders in the United States and was named the U.S. Eventing Association's Lady Rider of the Year in 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005.

Kim, a native of Tuscan, Arizona, is one of four children. Her mother, Jackie, had her riding almost before she could walk. She began formal dressage lessons at age 8. At age 11, she was competing at third level. That year, she discovered eventing, and competed her pony Troublefree at their first event. Obsessed with the sport, she trained with Canadian rider Dale Irwin. By age 13, she had taken Troublefree to the training level. In 1987, just 2 years later, Kim won the Area X Preliminary Championship aboard her mare, Meersluft.

By age 16, Kim had successfully trained three young, inexpensive horses competing in Novice up to Intermediate level horse trials. Kim was already demonstrating her innate ability to get the very best out of every horse (one of her special talents - the ability to train horses of average talent and turn them into stars). By 1993, Kim moved to Leesburg, Virginia, enduring many long years of hard work, struggles, and disappointments.

A turning point came In 1996. Kim partnered with Linda Wachtmeister of Plain Dealing Farm. Kim agreed to exercise horses and coach Linda's two daughters, and Linda agreed to sponsor Kim's dream of international competition. Kim credits much of her subsequent career success to Linda, "This all goes back to Linda. I ride at her farm, she foots the whole bill. It's like she's a parent and a friend who looks after me, and I do the same for her, I hope. It's sort of a fairy tale."

In 1999, Kim won the Rolex Kentucky CCI*** on Over the Limit ("Jake"), qualifying for the US Equestrian Team's Pan American Games Eventing Squad. Unfortunately, they were unable to compete when Jake suffered a stone bruise. That same year, Plain Dealing Farm acquired Winsome Adante, an English Thoroughbred gelding, affectionately known as Dan, beginning a phenomenal partnership that has continued for the past 7 years. They began their successful partnership winning the Radnor CCI** in 2000 and the Blenheim CCI*** in 2001. At the World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain, in 2002, Kim and Dan placed 6th individually and as USA Team Gold Medallist.

The 2002 eventing season was highlighted when Kim and Dan took first place at the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** event. In 2003, Kim won the National Advanced Horse Trials Championship for the Jack LeGoff Trophy at Over the Walls with Vennie, and also won a regular Advanced division with Dan. She planned to defend her Rolex title that year, until she broke her leg in a fall with another horse two weeks before the 2003 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. After her recovery, and just days before the Burghley CCI**** event, both Dan and Vennie colicked, requiring surgery, so Kim spent the rest of the 2003 season working with the other event horses at Plain Dealing Farm.

Kim and Dan were back and looking better than ever in 2004, winning their first spring horse trial and placing second at the North Georgia CIC***. After Dan's recovery, Kim was quoted in an interview as saying, "To just have the horse back at all is amazing, but strangely enough I feel like our bond, our relationship, has become stronger than before. We are closer than ever." Kim and Dan then achieved another career highlight when they won their unprecedented second Rolex Kentucky CCI**** victory finishing on their best dressage score ever earning just 37 penalty points. Their performance at that event has been described as "perfection personified," where Dan's fluid performance glowed with expression and cooperation. Kim and Dan finally fulfilled their Olympic eligibility at Rolex, because the two of them were out much of the season - Kim with a broken leg, Dan recovering from colic surgery.

At the Olympics in Athens, Greece, in the summer of 2004, Kim and Dan put in the American contingent's best dressage test, and rode a fault-free cross-country trip winning the individual silver medal. Their performance helped the U.S. Eventing Team win the bronze medal for three-day eventing at the Markopoulo Equestrian Center. In 2004, Kim was ranked the #1 rider in the world, an eventing superstar, with uncanny talent and a total dedication to success.

For the third time in four years, Kim and Winsome Adante accomplished an unbelievable third victory at the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** in 2005, winning every phase of the three-day competition, finishing on their dressage score 38.2, 17 points ahead of Phillip Dutton riding The Foreman. After a flawless cross-country course, these two truly remarkable athletes thrilled the crowd on Sunday by taking the more difficult Liverpool water jump instead of the safer, but more time-consuming jump on the course.

In 2005 Kim was selected as United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Developmental Coach of the Year. The year was topped off when Kim was recognized as USEA Lady Rider of the year, and Dan was awarded his third USEA Horse of the year.
Kim competed Dan at the 2006 World Championships in Aachen Germany where they placed 3rd in the dressage, but unfortunately finished 17th overall after a run-out on cross country eliminated their hopes for an individual medal.
In 2007, Kim's string of horses continued to place well. Tsunami (Sue) and Winsome Adante were named to the Winter Training List for 2007. Kim and Sue were chosen to participate in the Olympic Test Event in August, but unfortunately, Sue was unable to travel. Kim also placed 2nd on Tipperary Liadhnan at the Fork CIC***, who moved up to Advanced in March. Kim and Winsome Adante won the CIC*** World Cup Qualifier. They then went on to place 3rd in the CCI**** at Badminton in England.

Kim was the assistant coach to chef d'equipe Mark Phillips for the 2006 World Equestrian Games.
In the fall of 2007, after 11 wonderful years at Plain Dealing Farm, Kim took the next step in her career and has ventured out on her own. She established her own business, Kim Severson Eventing, LLC. where she continues to ride and compete a barn full of potential superstars. Kim is bringing some exciting young horses along and is currently competing on: Queen Wannabee, a Thoroughbred owned by Jane Dudinsky, Wiley Post, a Thoroughbred owned by Shaws Fork LLC. Kim is also bringing along her own horses, Fantasy Impromptu (Chopin), a Hanovarian, and Sonic Solutions (Punchy), a Thoroughbred she located in California through Valerie Ashker.

In a short 3 years, Kim has transformed Tipperary Liadhnan (Paddy), an Irish Draft owned by Friends of Kim Severson, from competing at the Novice level to a CCI**** and Olympic prospect. Kim has spoken of Paddy, saying that, "He has demonstrated a strength and willingness to please." His abilities were proven again when he placed 5th at the 2008 Rolex CCI****, exceeding even Kim's expectations. In July, Kim and Paddy participated in the 2008 Olympic Short List selection at The Fork in North Carolina. Once again, Kim is on the 2009 USET Winter Training List with Tipperary Liadhnan. Kim says they will be in London in 2012 Olympics.

Laine on FITS:

Every rider is always striving to be closer to their horse, to have a better connection on their back. We invest in close- contact saddles, buy thin, less bulkier saddle pads in order to create the feeling of "oneness" atop our mounts. That's why I use FITS breeches. FITS gives me that close- contact feeling without having to invest in trendy saddles and pads. Additionally, its super stretchy material allows the breeches to fit comfortably around my body similar to a second skin, and gives a sleek and elegant appearance. Whether you're trekking down the trail or tracking down center line, FITS has your back!

Laine lives in Crozier, VA, where she and her mother run Crow's Ear Farm. She has had "the amazing experience of riding for Area II in three Junior Olympics bringing home two team bronze and an individual silver."  In addition, Laine has competed successfully through the four star level aboard three horses that she trained herself. In partnership with these wonderful horses Laine has won The Markham Trophy, USEF Highest Placed Under 25 Championship, and USEF Highest Place Owner/Rider.  In 2005, Laine was the highest placed American at Blenheim Petplan CCI*** in England aboard Eight Saint James Place. She was the only American to finish the cross-country course that year.  In 2007, Laine cherished the opportunity to represent her country in the Olympic Test event held in Hong Kong riding Anthony Patch.  In 2008, Laine was placed on the Winter Training List with Frodo Baggins and the Developing Riders List with Anthony Patch.

Leading up to Rolex 2008, Laine was the third highest ranked event rider in the US, riding her own Frodo Baggins and Christine Brennan's Mazetto. After riding a clean round with Mazetto at Rolex, she and Frodo Baggins had a catastrophic fall that ended her quest to ride in the 2008 Olympics. Frodo tragically was euthanized as a result of his injuries. Despite this heart-breaking loss, and her own life threatening injuries Laine was riding again within two months. Asked about coming back from such a devastating experience, Laine said "Our sport is one of fractions- a fraction of a second or a fraction of an inch can make all the difference in the world.  I am so grateful and heartened by the outpouring of support from people all over the country and the world who have done so much to help.  In addition, it is a great comfort to me that the timing of our accident spurred action to make our sport safer for all participants, particularly our beloved horses. My plans now are to learn every lesson I can from the experience and persevere."

Laine's hopes and dreams continue. Her present goals are for she and her horses to have a successful and safe year in 2009 with high hopes to be scouted for the WEG in 2010. Laine continues to dream of representing the USA in the Olympics.  She is reminded of this goal every night as she stares at the 1996 Olympic Eventing poster on her ceiling that is signed by one of her fellow competitors and idols, Karen O'Conner.

In addition to her riding career, Laine is a dean's list graduate of the University of Virginia where she majored in Foreign Affairs specializing in the Middle East and minoring in Global Culture and Commerce. Laine is fluent in Arabic and Spanish.  (Stay in school kids!) She has a devoted group of students who compete in Eventing and in Dressage. Her students have had outstanding results and continue to move up the levels in both disciplines.

Jessica on FITS:

"I rode in FITS for the first time at the 2010 World equestrian games. I loved the look and feel of the breeches, however it wasn't until the water jump that I realized just how incredible the FITS breeches were!
Exponential took a huge leap off the bounce bank into the water and I am quite sure that FITS breeches were a major part of why I was able to stay on Exponential and finish the cross country course. To this day I never ride in anything but FITS! "

Jessica PhoenixA bit about Jessica... For her first birthday, she received a pony and has never looked back.
Rising through the ranks of Canada's provincial Junior/Young Rider program, Jessica was first named to the 2006 Canadian Eventing Team List with Exploring, a horse she purchased as a four year old. The pair represented Canada at the 2007 Pan American Games, placing 12th overall and, in 2008, enjoyed an impressive third place finish at the CCI 3* Jersey Fresh Three Day Event. In 2009 Jessica campaigned two horses at the advanced three star level culminating with finishes at the CCI 3* Blenheim Three Day Event in Great Britain. In 2010 Jessica enjoyed a third place finish with Exponential at the CCI3* Bromont Three Day Event, and competed at the rld Equestrian Games. Highlights of 2011 included a top ten finish at Rolex, 35th place at Burghley, and winning Team silver and individual gold at the Pan American Games.

Susie on FITS:

"After years of riding and showing, I have been so frustrated in the past two years trying to find breeches that fit or do not have the hip-hugger look. As I am no longer a teenager, that look just doesn't work for me! I was so delighted to put on the FITS breeches and feel the comfort, fit and waist where I wanted it. If you have had the same problem as I have, you need to try FITS right away."

Susan Merrill Hutchison started riding by the age of five at the Flintridge Riding Club. As a pupil of the legendary horseman Jimmy A. Williams, Riding Master at Flintridge, Susan won all the horseman finals offered on the West Coast while she was a junior rider. Aboard her horse Red Baron at the Indio National Horse Show, she jumped a record 7 foot high puissance wall at the age of 18. At the age of 12, she had been Reserve Champion in the Junior Hunter division at the New York's National Horse Show. From ages 12 through 18, she was either Champion or Reserve Champion Hunter Seat rider of the Pacific Coast Horse Shows Association.

At age 18, she became a professional, partnering with her mentor Jimmy A. Williams at Flintridge. Countless additional championships came her way in both the hunter and jumper divisions. She also contributed to the training of Anne Kursinski, who was reserve rider for the United States Equestrian Team at the 1984 Olympic Games, and an Olympian in both Seoul and Barcelona. Other students have included Lisa Kursinski, Cece Durante Bloome, Laurie Fieger, Francie Steinwedell Carven and Gigi Gaston. Students Laurie Masto and Katherine Ginzton have acquitted themselves with distinction at the national finals in Hunt Seat Equitation.

From 1978 to 1980, Hutchison rode for the United States Equestrian Team at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada, succeeding against teams from six other nations. She qualified and competed in the World Cup Finals in Paris, France, in 1987, and has competed three times since then in the World Cup Finals in Sweden, achieving a finish of fourth in the world in April 1993.

Susie has won over 30 Grand Prix show jumping competitions since 1988, with 12 victories in 1992 alone while competing coast to coast. In that year, she was a nominee for the American Horse Show Association's Equestrian of the Year title. In 1989, Susie won the Mercedes Challenge Series for show jumping and was awarded a new Mercedes automobile. In 1990, her winning the Leading West Coast Rider award for the World Cup entitled her to a new Volvo, and in 1992 her exploits in the show ring won her a new Cadillac as American Grand Prix Association Rider of the Year. She was also voted 1992 Rider of the Year by influential magazine The Chronicle of the Horse in Virginia, and in 1993 was named the first recipient of the Mark Muller Perpetual Sportsmanship Award of the Pacific Coast Horse Show Association.

In 1993 and 1994, her stature as one of the world's top show jumping riders was enhanced with major victories. Aboard three different horses (Samsung Woodstock, ASAP, and High Heels), Hutchison won six Grand Prix, including the richest prize on the West Coast, the $100,000 Grand Prix of the Desert. By May of 1994, she was already the winner of three Grand Prix that year, including the Del Mar Grand Prix for the third time in four years, and a West Coast candidate for the United States Equestrian Team tryouts for the American representatives to the World Equestrian Games to be held in August at the Hague in Holland. She was elected to the United States Equestrian Team's Active Rider Committee, and judged the USET Medal Finals held in October 1994 at Gladstone, New Jersey.

After competing against the top horses and riders in the country at the 1994 trials in Gladstone, New Jersey, Hutchison finished among the top four to qualify as a member of of the World's Championship Team. She went on to represent the United States at the Hague in Holland. She returned home in September 1994 with a new mount from Germany, a grey Westphalian gelding known as Bugs Bunny. Six days after he arrived out of quarantine, Bugs Bunny and Hutchison placed third in the $30,00 Grand Prix held at Griffith Park. They went on to win the $40,000 Samsung Grand Prix of Flintridge the following weekend.

In 1995, Hutchison was again a nominee for the AHSA Hertz Equestrian of the Year and voted California Horsewoman of the Year. Based on her Grand Prix wins on Bugs Bunny, she was the Leading West Coast Volvo World Cup Qualifier and added a 1995 Volvo to her car collection. While competing at the World Cup Finals in Sweden, Bugs Bunny won the "Skandia Cup" on Easter Sunday. Upon their arrival home, the two were victorious again in the $40,000 Grand Prix at the Volvo Dressage World Cup Finals in Los Angeles. Three weeks later, Bugs Bunny jumped into the winners circle again at the Grand Prix of Showpark in Del Mar.

In the 1995 - 1996 season, Madeleine Paulson's bay stallion America I made his Grand Prix debut, winning the $40,000 Samsung Grand Prix of Flintridge. He went on to become one of the top four money winning jumpers in the United States during the season, qualifying for a berth in the National Horse Show at New York's Madison Square Garden. He finished the show year winning the $50,000 Budweiser Grand Prix at the Garden, followed a week later with a second at the Los Angeles Grand Prix.

In 1997, Susan was the highest point qualifier on the West Coast for the Volvo World Cup finals held in Gothenburg, Sweden and received another new Volvo. Traveling to the finals with America I was another milestone in her career finishing 14th overall, a great finish for their debut in Europe. In June this team won the Royal Bank Cup at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada. The storybook close to the year was the comeback of Samsung Woodstock who won the World Cup Qualifier at the L.A. National in Los Angeles.

America I recovered from an injury to place 2nd in the $50,000 Grand Prix of the Oaks - his first start back after one year off. Highlights during 1999 include winning both Grand Prix of Pebble Beach while placing 3rd and 4th on other mounts. Susan's three entries in the Portola Grand Prix placed 2nd, 3rd and 5th. The $50,000 Grand Prix at the Oaks produced a third place finish.

Susie has been showing her new Grand Prix horses with tremendous success! In April 2005, "Star Graffix", owned by Rheta Strong (Snowmass, CO) started his first Grand Prix and placed in the top five in several Grand Prix, winning the 2006 Oaks Blenheim Summer Classic V and the 2007 Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic III.

In 2005, Susie also started her partnership with "Playboy", owned by Ellen Spalding (Temecula, CA). Since then, their successes include top 10 finishes in Oaks Blenheim Summer Classic I (2008), Oaks Blenheim Summer Classic II (2007, 2008), and Oaks Blenheim June Classic III (2007), including top 5 finishes in Oaks Blenheim Summer Classic I (2008), Oaks Blenheim Summer Classic II (2007), Oaks Blenheim June Classic III (2007).

2008 was an exciting year for Susie and "Cantano," owned by El Dorado 29 and Jim & Pat Iverson. With help from Sandy Aston on the ground, their first ever Grand Prix was April 5, 2008, at the $35,000 Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic II where Cantano won, easily stepping across the finish line after a double clear performance and out-jumping 39 other horses. Then on June 28, 2008 at the $25,000 Oaks Blenheim Red White & Blue Grand Prix, Cantano again put in a double clear performance to win that class. He followed that win one week later by winning the $25,000 July Theme Grand Prix in San Juan Capistrano on July 5, 2008!

2009 continued to be another fabulous year for Grand Prix wins. In June 2009, Susie and "Cantano" won the Blenheim June Classic 4 $25,000 Red, White, & Blue Grand Prix and the $30,000 Copa De Amistad Grand Prix 09. In April they won the Blenheim Spring Classic II $35,000 Grand Prix. And in June, on another mount — "Muscadet De la Savenier" — Susie won the Blenheim June Classic 1 $30,000 Grand Prix.

Susan was elected and continues to represent the Active Athletes on the Board of Directors of the AHSA since 1996. A member of the 2000 AHSA FEI Competition Committee, Susan also enjoys serving as co-chairman of the Jumper Committee (with Hap Hansen) of the Pacific Coast Hunter and Jumper Association board of directors. She has judged the East Coast USET Finals along with the Midwest and West Coast International Jumper Futurity Finals. When she is not showing, Susan offers clinics, and advises on investments and syndications.

Megan on FITS:

"FITS are the most comfortable breeches I have worn in a long time. FITS Beka knee patch breech design lets me have good feel for the horses all while providing excellent durability and comfort.
I wear the jean colored Beka breech for my daily training breeches and cant say enough about their comfort and durability, not to mention their flattering appearance. Before FITS I would wear jeans when schooling my horses at home because breeches weren't comfortable. Now with FITS I can wear breeches again while schooling my horses at home and at the horse shows, which has really helped save the wear and tear of jeans on my saddles."

Hunter/Jumper rider, Megan Jordan, is one of the top Grand Prix riders on the west coast. Megan has been a horse industry professional for almost 20 years. She found her niche in starting young horses and riders and brining them to their full potential in the hunter jumper rings. Megan believes that all riders and horses needed a solid foundation before continuing their education to over fences. Today her program focuses on building a partnership between horse and rider so they can both reach their full potential.

Megan is based out of Venture Farms a 20-stall barn that she owns and manages. She rides 8-10 horses most days of the week and teaches multiple lessons in between. After jumping her first pony she knew that the hunter/jumpers and training were going to be her future. Megan has won Grand Prix's from all over the West Coast to Canada on her horses Lolita and Top Shelf.

Meg on FITS:

"I love my FITS breeches!! The full seat gives great security in the saddle and truly improves my riding. Even better, they are sooo comfortable!! On weekends, I spend 100% of my days in riding attire when I am at home, and they are the most comfortable breeches I have ever worn. Even better, they are tough as nails. I used to find myself wearing the ugly, unflattering riding tights at home because I didn’t want to damage my “good” riding tights. The FITS tights actually hold up to long hours of wear (not to mention long hours in the saddle). And they look good too!! How did you manage to put all that in one package!!???! "

Carol on FITS:

“I have been riding in my two pairs of FITS riding pants for almost 2 years now and I am still madly in love with them.  They are amazingly comfortable and keep me comfortable regardless of how hot it is.  The most amazing thing to me is how they wear.  I raced almost 1800 miles the last two years.  Add to that the daily miles spent training our horses and I am sure I’ve put over 2500 miles on each set of pants.  Despite that kind of use, however, they still look brand new – not a tear or snag to be seen!  On top of that, they still fit like they did when they first arrived at the house.   You won’t find another pair of breeches that can compare!”

Carol GilesCarol started endurance riding in the early 1980s.  Since then, she has accumulated over 8,000 endurance miles on 18 different horses.  Out of 153 rides, she has completed 144.  She has 13 wins and 59 top 10 finishes in rides under 80 miles.  In the 20 100-mile rides she has completed, she has 7 wins and another 9 top-ten finishes.  Her horses have received best condition 14 times.  Her oldest endurance horse, SAR Tike Stranger, is still competing at age 17 and now has logged almost 5,000 race miles.

Carol has also been actively engaged in international endurance riding.  She is chair of AERC-International and sits on the United States Equestrian Federation Endurance Active Athletics and High Performance Committees.  She rode for the Pac North Zone in the 2003 Pan American Endurance Championship, as well as the 2007 North American Endurance Championship where the Pac North team received the silver medal.  In 2003, she was an alternate for the United States endurance world cup team.  In 2005, she represented the United States in the World Equestrian Endurance Championship held in Dubai, UAE.  In 2007, a team of horses bred, raised and trained by Carol and her husband, Ronald Sproat, received the silver medal in the United States Zone Team Endurance Challenge.

Carol and her husband, breed, raise and train endurance horses at their ranch in Central Oregon.  One of Carol’s greatest joys is mentoring riders new to endurance.  She enjoys helping new riders learn that there is much more to endurance than simply going down the trail.
